{"product_id":"vic-damone-15234","title":"Vic Damone - 15234","description":"Fine American singer and entertainer; once married to actress Pier Angeli.\n\nWithin a few months of winning a talent show in 1947, Damone had signed to Mercury Records and scored his first Billboard hit with I Have But One Heart, which reached No.7 in their charts. Other hits followed.\n\nHis film career began in 1951 with The Strip and Rich, Young and Pretty, to be followed by the hit musicals Hit The Deck and Kismet (both in 1954)\n\nIn 1956, Damone moved to Columbia Records and had some success on that label with hits like On The Street Where You Live (from My Fair Lady) and An Affair to Remember (from the film of that name). In 1961, he moved to Capitol Records, where he filled in the gap left by Frank Sinatra's leaving to help found Reprise Records. He lasted at Capitol only until 1965 but recorded some of his most highly-regarded albums there, including two which made the Billboard chart, Linger Awhile with Vic Damone and The Lively Ones.\n\nDamone very nearly played Johnny Fontane in the 1972 film The Godfather. The part was originally offered to him and Al Marino only got the role because he went to Russell Bufalino, his godfather and head of the Bufalino crime family, who made Damone an offer he couldn't refuse. (Damon's cover story was that he turned the part down because the film “was not in the best interests of Italian-Americans.”)\n\nThis is a very fine black and white photograph (8\" x 10\"), nicely signed in green ink (\"Always Yours, Vic Damone\"), In excellent condition.","brand":"Clickautographs","offers":[{"title":"1colour \/ 1size \/ Authentic","offer_id":57853643587916,"sku":"305","price":40.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1067\/9222\/3052\/files\/vic_damone_JS.jpg?v=1785520224","url":"https:\/\/midsussexcollectibles.com\/en-gb\/products\/vic-damone-15234","provider":"Mid Sussex Collectibles","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
