British actress who matured in the 1940s from a pretty bit of decoration feeding lines to Arthur Askey and Jimmy Hanley into a sexy femme fatale. Kent was born into show business with her parents working the Music Halls and joined the chorus at theWindmill Theatre at the age of fifteen. The stage review Apple Sauce (in which she was stooge to Max Miller) got her noticed and a contract at Gainsborough. Her films for the studio include Fanny By Gaslight (1944), Madonna of the Seven Moons (1944), Waterloo Road (1945), The Rake's Progress (1945), The Wicked Lady (1945), The Magic Bow (1946), Bond Street (1948), Sleeping Car To Trieste (1948), The Woman in Question (1950), The Browning Version (1951), The Prince and the Showgirl (1957) and The Grip of the Strangler (1958). This is a luscious vintage black and white Gainsborough photograph (5.25" x 3.25"), as the lovely Rosal in Caravan (1946), in which she co-starred with Stewart Granger. There's a fine signature in blue fountain pen ink across the image. In very good condition.
