Andrew Knox - 7175

Hollywood-born British actor, the
son of great Canadian actor, Alexander Knox; husband of actress Imogen Hassall.

Knox, who first acted with the
Marlow Society at Cambridge University, had the usual problems of a son with a
famous father, and struggled to build a career. He found work on stage in
Britain and America but his only important role was as Dr James Gascoigne in
the television series, Doctors On The Go (1977-1979).

He met actress Imogen Hassall when
they were in a play together and they married in January, 1979. It didn't last
and they divorced in the May of that year.

In 1987 Knox boarded the Bailiwick
of Jersey ferry to visit a friend in London. When it docked, he wasn't on
board. Although there remains the possibility that he fell overboard
accidentally, the greater probability is that he committed suicide.

His ex-wife Imogen had also
committed suicide, in 1980 at the age of 38 with an overdose of Tuinal, a
barbiturate.

This is a very fine 8" x 10" black and white photograph, nicely signed and inscribed ("Mike and Judi, Lots of love and Thanks as Always, Andrew Knox XX") on blue fountain pen ink across the image. One tiny stain in the extreme left edge but otherwise in very good conidition.
