French-born actress, long resident in America. Colbert's films include De Mille's The Sign of the Cross (gaining notoriety as Nero's wife, bathing in ass's milk, 1932), Cleopatra (1934), Imitation of Life (1934), Private Worlds (AAN 1935), Under Two Flags (1936), Midnight (1939), The Palm Beach Story (1942), Since You Went Away (AAN 1944), The Egg and I (1947), Three Came Home (1950) and many others. She won an Oscar for her performance in the Capra classic It Happened One Night (1934). This is a lovely black and white photograph (8" x 10). boldly signed and inscribed ("To John Street, Good Luck! Claudette Colbert") in blue ink across the image. In excellent condition.
