Gladys Cooper - 14461

Distinguished British actress, one of the stage's great beauties during Edwardian days.

Cooper occasionally graced British films in the 1910s and early 1920s, but the body of her screen work was done in Hollywood after 1940, where she was invariably cast as an upper-class matron, usually with a cool, cynical edge.

She appeared in Rebecca, Kitty Foyle (both 1940), and Lady Hamilton (1941), and was Oscar-nominated for her work in Now, Voyager (1942) and The Song of Bernadette (1943). She earned a third nomination, toward the end of her career, for her performance as Henry Higgins' mother in My Fair Lady (1964).

This is a lovely glossy bronze photograph (5.5" x 3.5"), nicely signed across the image in turquoise ink. In very good condition.
