John Justin - 15267

English actor, mostly on stage but in some memorable films. Justin's film debut came in 1937 in Dark Journey, starring Vivien Leigh and Conrad Veidt but it was Alexander Korda's 1940 classic, The Thief of Bagdad, that made him a star. Although under contract to Korda for seven years, Justin joined the RAF and made only two films during the war years, The Gentle Sex (1943) and Journey Together (1945). He re-established his film career with David Lean's The Sound Barrier (1952) and went on to make King of the Khyber Rifles (1953), The Man Who Loved Redheads (with Moira Shearer, 1955), Island in the Sun (1957), Savage Messiah (1972), Lisztomania (1975), Valentino (1977), The Big Sleep (1978) and, his last, Trenchcoat (1983). This is a very fine cutting (6.25" x 4.75") taken from a 1977 Spotlight Directory, nice signed in blue ink. In very good condition
