British orchestral violinist and bandleader who built an unparalleled reputation in the field of light music. He is best remembered as the leader of the Palm Court Orchestra and the Max Jaffa Trio, with Jack Byfield (piano) and Reginald Kilbey (cello), which broadcast on BBC Radio. His career lasted 70 years, before retiring in 1990.

This is a very fine black and white BBC photograph (5.5" x 3.5"), signed in ink by Max Jaffa and by Byfield and Kilbey. In excellent condition.

Jack Byfield (1902-1977)

British pianist, arranger and composer (his Fantasia on National Airs was written as a startup theme for the BBC Television Service in the mid-1950s.)

Reginald Kilbey (1907-1982)

British cellist, conductor, and string orchestra leader. Kilbey contributed cello on a number of Beatles tracks including "Glass Onion", "Martha My Dear", "Piggies" "Within You Without You" and Here Comes the Sun
