Vivien Leigh - 10364

Outstanding British actress, for many years the wife of Laurence Olivier. Leigh's films include Fire Over England (1936), Dark Journey (1937), A Yank at Oxford (1938), Waterloo Bridge (1940), Lady Hamilton (1941), Caesar and Cleopatra (1945) and Anna Karenina (1948). She won two Oscars – for the immortal Gone With The Wind (as Scarlett O'Hara, 1939) and for A Streetcar Named Desire (as Blanche Dubois, 1951). This is a lovely vintage early 1940s black and white photograph (a little less than 6" x 4.75") showing Vivien Leigh in her green Walter Plunkett-designed party dress in Gone With The Wind. There's a fine signature and inscription ("Miss Bott, with best wishes, Vivien Leigh") in blue fountain pen ink across a light area of the image. In very good condition.
